GOTR Sierras Camp GOTR Wrap-Up

Last week we wrapped up Camp GOTR at the Carson City Community Center. Throughout the week, girls learned how to work as a team, explored characteristics of a good friend, and discussed how to navigate uncomfortable conversations and emotions. We are sending a BIG energy award to all of the volunteers and supporters of GOTR as well as the employees of the Carson City Community Center for making Camp GOTR possible. Carson City's Nashville Social Club to support Maui wildfire victims with a series of fundraisers

In an endeavor to aid the victims of the wildfires in Maui, the Nashville Social Club in Carson City, Nevada, is launching a series of fundraisers during the month of August, benefitting the Maui Strong fund of the Community Foundation of Hawai’i.

The first event kicks off this Saturday night, Aug. 12, when NSC will donate 10% of the proceeds from dinners purchased by patrons attending the "Most Wanted: Country Rock Burlesque Show" in the Swan Music Hall to the Maui Strong Fund.

Carson City Theater Educator Celebrated at the Twelfth Annual "Freddie G Fellowship Awards"

Carol Scott, the executive director of Wild Horse Children’s Theater was one of five outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the U.S. who received the Freddie G. Fellowship.

Carol was flown to New York in July to work one-on-one with Broadway professionals at the twelfth Annual Freddie G Fellowship G from July 13 to 16.

CCPROS are hosting several evenings of weed pulling at Lone Mountain Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 9, Aug. 23 and Aug. 30 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Horsecreek Ranch, CCPROS is also hosting a thistle dig at one of their conservation easement properties. This is a private property located of off HWY 50 W that offer views of Carson Valley and the sierras. Space is limited, email the Volunteer Coordinator to reserve your spot.

On June 15th, The Carson City Board of Supervisors selected two winners for the Carson City Elections Department “I Voted” sticker design contest. The winning designs, by Laura Licari and Tyler Kerver, will be used for the three elections in 2024, starting with the February 2024 Presidential Preference Primary.
