Rain deer in Carson City
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 03/02/2019 - 10:39pmA band of Mule deer sought shelter underneath mature trees at a residence on W. Telegraph Street Saturday afternoon in cool, wet weather conditions.
Some of the deer were fortunate enough to stay dry under the tree canopies. Others weren't quite so lucky.

Wet Saturday weather doesn't deter March Wine Walk in Carson City

Carson City's downtown business and historic districts were bustling Saturday with Wine Walk participants enjoying sights and sips, despite cool, wet weather that failed to dampen their spirits.
Read Across America Day celebrated at Carson City Library Saturday

Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell, Carson City Supervisor Lori Bagwell and Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong were each scheduled read from a book to groups of children during the Read Across America Day celebration.

Carson City man arrested for throwing football-sized rock through car window

Carson City fire crews respond to structure fire on TiAmo sign at Casino Fandango
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 03/02/2019 - 11:31amUPDATE: 10:46AM: Carson City fire officials report that the flames on the roof just above the TiAmo sign have been knocked down and the fire alarm turned off.
Building occupants are being let back inside. The fire department is still on scene investigating the fire's cause.

The Carson City Fire Department has been dispatched to Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson Street, for a structure fire visible next to the TiAmo sign on the north side of the building.
The business has been evacuated while firefighters address the fire.
Fire damages mobile home Friday night in East Carson City
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 03/02/2019 - 11:04amFriday at 11:37 p.m. the Carson City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 7200 block of U.S. Highway 50 East.
When firefighters arrived, they were faced with a double wide residential trailer that was fully engulfed with flames. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
Wet weekend ahead for greater Carson City area

We can expect wet conditions throughout the weekend, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno reports, with 100 percent chance of showers Saturday and a high temperature into the mid-40s.
