Man jailed after Carson City sheriff's deputies find copper wire inside stolen vehicle
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 05/28/2014 - 9:13amA 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of being in possession of stolen copper wire and burglary tools inside a stolen vehicle, according to a Carson City sheriff's deputy.
Maxwell Chinevere, a transient, was stopped by Nevada Highway Patrol troopers and subsequently arrested after an investigation by the Carson City Sheriff's Office led to the recovery of the vehicle and items stolen from a business in the 3200 block of Deer Run Road.
April gaming revenue climbs in Carson City, falls at Lake Tahoe

Casinos in Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville and all others except for those at Stateline Lake Tahoe that make up the Carson Valley area, report an overall gaming profit of $8,001,991 for the month of April compared to $7,883,290 in April 2013.

Carson Sierra Youth Football League uses high school rules. SYFL uses 100-yard fields in various high school locations.
Registration is May 31 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Pizza Factory on Hwy 50.

RSVP seeks local musicians and vendors for July 4 celebration
Submitted by editor on Tue, 05/27/2014 - 5:26pmFor the 22th year, the Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program, also known as RSVP, will sponsor the July 4th celebration at Mills Park, Carson City, July 3-6, 2014. The highlight of the event will include a spectacular Independence Day pyrotechnic display at dusk.
Local musicians and bands are encouraged to apply to play in one of four openings scheduled for Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6. All music genres are welcome but must be suitable for a family-friendly event and contain no offensive lyrics or stage show.
