Sophomores play key roles for Senators in twin-bill split against Tigers
MINDEN -- Aided by key contributions from its cast of sophomores -- including Drew Moreland, Nick Domitrovich, Rory Petersen and Brock Pradere -- the Carson High baseball team took a nice step forward on Saturday afternoon.
Domitrovich pitched five solid innings and Moreland followed with two scoreless innings, while Pradere triggered a fifth inning rally that culminated with Petersen's two-run single to help Carson secure a 5-4 victory against Douglas in game two of a Sierra League double header at Tiger Field.
By winning, Carson (1-2 league, 2-4 overall) finished with a split of the twin-bill after Douglas emerged with a 4-2 victory in the opener. Douglas (2-1 league, 4-3 overall) won two of three games in the series, including a 5-2 win at Carson on Thursday.
