Women to Women with Carson City Supervisor candidates Karen Abowd and Lori Bagwell

This week's episode of Women to Women features Lori Bagwell and Karen Abowd. Two residents who are running for Supervisor, but in different wards — Abowd, Ward 1 as an Incumbent and Bagwell in Ward 3.

Both of these women are business veterans as well as experienced in working with budgets. Karen will be running for re-election in November, while Lori will be running for the first time in an elected position.

Women to Women with Judy Bendure

This week's Women to Women is with Judy Bendure, a 46-year resident of Carson City. Judy is retired from the State of Nevada after 25 years of service. However, her energies and drive to maintain excellent health and balance for her own body have led her to become one of the area's foremost certified trainers in Pilates.

Judy is certified as an aerobic instructor,as well as a certified Personal Trainer. Her personal story and that of the history of Pilates is well worth viewing.

This week's Women to Women interview is with Mrs. Jill Dickman of Sparks who is running for Nevada Assembly District 31. Jill is a businesswoman with her husband, Tom. She is also in demand as a gifted harpist who performs for several local Northern Nevada groups.

This rather shy but intelligent lady has a mind of her own, and she feels strongly about accountability when running for public office and representing the people.

Women to Women with Natasha Gibson

This week's Women to Women features Natasha Gibson whose husband, Don Gibson, is running for Carson City Sheriff. Natasha is a Nevada native, born to Reno.

Natasha was raised mostly in Carson City as a youngster and graduated from Pioneer High School. She and her husband share Brandon, 2-years-old and Dylan, 13. Natasha is employed by Advanced Industries by Design.

Mrs. Gibson credits her husband with helping her through an extremely difficult period of her life, and the insight that he gave her is one of the strengths that he is able to give others, according to Natasha.

Women to Women interview with Meliah Gonzales

This week's Women to Women Nevada is the second in a three-part interview series. This latest episode features Meliah Gonzales, a Carson City District Court bailiff and wife of Daniel Gonzales, a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant and candidate for sheriff.

Mrs. Gonzales has her degree in criminal justice. She and Daniel have three children — an 8-year-old and 5-year-old twins. Mrs. Gonzales knows her husband better than anyone and she shares her views openly and candidly in her interview.

DeDe Stevens of Carson City is this week's guest on Women to Women. Ms. Stevens was born in Bogota, Columbia of a Columbian birth mother who shortly gave her up for adoption in a Bogota orphanage.

Upon being adopted by an American family, DeDe officially entered the United States when she was 12 years old. She is a graduate of Arizona Western College in Yuma, Ariz., with a degree in Spanish.

Ms. Stevens has also spent 26 years in the National Guard from which she is now retired.
