Women to Women

I am married to an immigrant. Among the many definitions that people apply to this word is "a person who comes into a new country".

As I now conclude this particular article, it is just hours away from one of America's most revered events--if not the most. President-elect Donald J. Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building at 12:00 noon on January 20, and Mike Pence will be duly sworn in as the Vice-President of the United States.

As I write this article, the Electoral College is deciding the route of the American Presidency and of Donald Trump as President-Elect. The Russian ambassador has been shot and killed in Turkey by a fanatic. Another European terrorist attack has taken place in Berlin, Germany, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens of others during the Christmas shopping season. Back in Aleppo, Syria, the Assad government is finishing off the horrific killings of its own people as well as rescue helpers and hundreds of Christians — many of whom are women and children.

Thanksgiving isn't a patriotic holiday per se, but it is full of patriotic feelings as Americans did and should give thanks for our shared blessings as a nation.

In many ways Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton could be considered much alike. Those two would dispute that opinion vigorously. But the American voting public might be interested in the following:

1. Both have low scores with the American public concerning trust and honesty when it comes to many polls.

As most of my readers know when it comes to politics I am a registered Independent. Most other Independents that I spend time around are individual thinkers who appreciate space and time to make up their minds before voting They are not party hardliners as are many Democrats and Republicans. Most Independents that I actually have met several times and waded into great exchanges of political conversation with struck me as voters who are very careful giving their vote to anyone.

Susan Crowell, wife of Mayor Bob Crowell of Carson City, is a mixture of strength, forthrightness, and intrigue. Susan is an attractive, well-spoken, well educated, and independent thinking female — both as a wife, mother, and citizen of Carson City. The definition of who she really is lies in her upbringing, her education, her marriage, her children, and in her personal interests. All these components interact to make for a thoughtful woman with a definite mind of her own, yet one who wants the best for others involved in all of these relationships.

As a voter like you, I am listening to, viewing, and reading much on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. One is well known in Washington politics and the other also well known but outside the Washington beltway in terms of political experience. Both Clinton and Trump are the presumptive Democratic and Republican candidates for president of the United States respectively. Both have fought very contentious campaigns, Both do not carry a high degree of trust with the American voting public, but for different reasons.

No one should have to fight blindly against the enemy — knowledge IS power, and the truth of any situation even more powerful. No one has ever had all the facts for a set of circumstances or a certain situation, only God has the entire picture, so human expertise has its limitations. However, gathering as many facts as possible, organizing them in a logical progression, studying them carefully, looking for strengths and weaknesses, can ultimately bring together a rather comprehensive picture for all to see.

As lead prosecutor, Andrew McCarthy, continued to involve himself and his legal team in further and deeper knowledge of the enemy in order to successfully bring to trial and to win the U.S. government's case against Sheik Abdel Rahman, aka the Blind Sheik, for the World Trade Center bombing which killed and maimed hundreds of Americans in 1993 in New York City.

After three long years of producing Women to Women for television on Charter Network, Producer Jose Paz and his wife and show host Carol Paz decided to retire.

Or so she thought.

Scottsdale, Arizona-based book publisher Vigilante Publishing Group is publishing "Bonners’ Fairy," a novel by Carson City area resident Elizabeth Patterson.

The publishing house picked up the book series that had originally been self-published. Patterson, a Carson City Support Services Specialist, has penned a series of six children's fantasy and adventure books based around the mythical land known as Bonners' Fairy.

This is the second in a two part Women to Women series with Dr. Kent Gabriel. This is a hands-on program detailing the process of minor plastic skin surgery and a live demonstration with Heidi Nicol, a medical esthetician, of a deep cleansing facial. He invited us to shoot in his office to discuss many different aspects of plastic surgery including many non-invasive alternatives. This week's Women to Women Nevada is with Brenda Hungerford, a successful woman and business owner. Brenda grew up in Oregon on ranch property where she and her siblings explored the acres of wildlife and the world of ranch animals.

This week's guest on Women to Women is Dianne Hillard, director of admissions at Western Nevada College. Dianne is originally from California, but has resided in Carson City with her husband for nearly 30 years. She holds a B.A. in Psychology, and a M.A. in Counseling from the California State University in Chico.

This week's guest on Women to Women is Kame Masterson, owner of NSE High-Tech Anti Aging.

The 150th episode of Women to Women features Mary Fischer of Carson City. She and her husband are the owners of the Cottonwood RV Park and have lived in Carson City for many years.

Mary was the President of "Gardeners Reclaiming our Waysides" (G.R.O.W.) she was instrumental in planning the landscaping and artwork along Carson City's overpasses and coordinating the historic art work along the freeway corridor with a Colorado artist.

This week's episode of Women to Womean features Stacy Woodbury. Stacy is the wife of Carson City District Attorney candidate Jason Woodbury.
