Rowan Brothers return to Carson City Sept. 24, on the Veranda at Cafe at Adele’s in what is becoming something of an annual tradition. The music starts at 6 p.m.

Each year about this time, Lorin Rowan and Chris Rowan bring patrons an evening of music that includes both new and old original songs and an array of everything from rock and pop to Americana and bluegrass.
Well versed in many genres and presented accoustically with beautiful harmonies, an evening with The Rowans is always a delight.

“This is something we always look forward to,” Lorin said.

Obituary - Ron "Gonzo" Gonzales

After spending his 64th birthday with his closest family, and fulfilling his wish to live to 64 years of age and force his family to sing, “When I'm 64,” to him, Ron Gonzales, known to most as Gonzo, died at 2:33 a.m. August 14, after suffering from COPD for decades. He spent his last week pleasantly, able to read for the first time in several years after suffering deteriorating eyesight – he'd received a Kindle for his birthday. His last day was spent with his granddaughter and wife, having fun with those he loved.

Mile High Jazz Band Presents "True Lies and Lullabies" Big Band Jazz and Poetry in Carson City

The Mile High Jazz Band with vocalist Cindee LeVal will be joined by several poets and readers on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, 7:30-9:30 p.m., for an evening of big-band music and poetry on the theme "True Lies and Lullabies."

Each poem will be followed by a related big-band tune. The event will be at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street, across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City, outdoors in the adjacent courtyard, weather permitting. Admission is $5 general and free for age 18 and under.

Final days for Jazz & Beyond Festival

The Jazz & Beyond - Carson City Music Festival concludes with nine events on Saturday, August 22, and four events on Sunday August 23.

Saturday events are:

Music in the Market – Barbara Baxter - 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Third & Curry St. Farmer's Market. Barbara Baxter sings soul-laced jazz with Jimmy Vermilion on piano.

Friday lineup: Carson City Jazz festival features Count Basie tribute among 3 venues

Jazz & Beyond, Carson City Music Festival, continues on today, Friday, with three free events. The main, special event is the Count Basie 111th Birthday Bash, 8 to 10 p.m., on the Third Street Stage between Carson and Curry Streets in Carson City.

The Music Festival began in 2004 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of William "Count" Basie, Aug. 21, 1904-April 26, 1984.

Co-headliner Pablo Cruise to play set with Ambrosia at July 8 Concert Under the Stars

History will be made when Pablo Cruise and Ambrosia perform at Concert Under the Stars, A Benefit for The Greenhouse Project, Wednesday, July 8 at Cafe at Adele’s, as this is the first time both bands not only co-headline the event, but will play a set together, something both bands have long wanted to do.
