Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. Sherrie Paulie Scaffidi is running for the Nevada Assembly Seat in District 40. Sherrie is a US Navy Seabee, veteran. She is a widower who lost her wife of 42 years to cancer in 2012. Sherrie is the father of three grown children. She lived in Carson City from 1991 to 2005 and happily moved back in 2018.

First patient in Nevada tests presumptively positive for novel coronavirus through VA health system

The first patient in Nevada has tested presumptively positive for the novel coronavirus, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

A test performed by the Southern Nevada Health District confirmed the patient is presumptively positive for the virus, and a sample is being sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for official confirmation. The individual was identified through the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System.
