For 20 years I have been bringing Christmas events to Downtown Carson City, beginning in 2000 when I had my retail store on Telegraph Square with Santa and his real reindeer. The Santa Parade was created in 2007 and was always the Saturday after the Silver and Snowflake festival originating at Telegraph Square to bring awareness to the existing businesses in the area.

With Thanksgiving leftovers winding down, we're winding up to the second day in December and the first day of the work week ahead, with activities lined up through the weekend. For Monday, activities around the capital city include a free yoga class offered through Partnership Carson City, a discussion on the Tom Steyer campaign hosted by the Carson City Democratic Men's Club, art events and more. The Holiday Craft show will be held from now till 12-24-19 in the interior of the mall. 10 am -6 pm each vendor offers a unique gift the vendors change every week. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Carson City residents showed up in masses to start their holiday shopping. Carson High School (CHS) played host to over a hundred crafters, artisans, candy makers, knitters and even more happy shoppers at this weekend’s 25th Annual Holiday Craft Fair.

This Friday and Saturday is a milestone in Carson City as Carson High School will celebrate its 25th annual Holiday Craft Fair.

Carson High and Douglas High teaming up together is right up there with the appearing of Halley’s Comet. Officially designated 1P/Halley, this is a short-period comet visible from Earth every 75–76 year and is the only known short-period comet that is visible to the naked eye from Earth and the only naked-eye comet that might appear twice in a human lifetime.

Join us for another unique shopping experience while assisting Carson High School staff and students. The 25th annual Carson High Holiday Craft Fair will be held Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23.

Everyone in Carson City is invited, always invited, to come on out and support the CHS athletic teams and programs, especially when so many of these individuals and teams have been so successful. A great many athletic events are happening this week and beyond with regional competitions in soccer, and state competitions in tennis and cross country.

Heading into the Veterans Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days. Events include live comedy, art and heater, multiple holiday craft fairs around Carson City and Carson Valley as well as several Veterans Day ceremonies and offers of gratitude to vets and active duty members of the U.S. military on Monday. — Muscle Powered Sunday bike ride. 9 a.m. Meet at Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Rd, Carson City, NV 89701, in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail. Come join Muscle Powered for a free, guided group walk, hike, or ride around Carson City!

The Carson High Holiday Craft Fair will be held at the Carson High School Friday November 22nd from 5-8pm and Saturday November 23rd from 9-4pm. Admission on Friday is $2.00 and Saturday is $1.50 or $1.00 with a canned food item. All canned food items will be donated to Advocates to End Domestic Violence.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the second annual Evening with Divas in Carson City, a Día de Muertos celebration at the Nevada State Museum, Nevada Artists Association’s 40th anniversary celebration, paranormal ghost investigations in Virginia City, a pie baking contest in Gardnerville and much more!

Good day Carson City, we hope you are enjoying your Nevada Day weekend. It is Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019. Events around the capital city area include a post Nevada Day Trash Mob cleanup, a morning bike ride, Pow Wow activities at the MAC, the RSVP carnival at Mills Park as well as as tours of the Wungnema House, also in the park, Thomas the Train activities Virginia City and more. It will be a much cooler day weather wise, so dress warm. Enjoy.

Activities include the annual parade down Carson Street, a carnival at Mills Park, the 30th annual Nevada Day Classic, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, beard and rock drilling contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit kids and adults of all ages.

Counting down the hours until the Nevada Day weekend celebration begins, we're heading into Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 with sunny skies in the forecast through Sunday. Thursday opens the first of the four-day annual RSVP Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park with $1 ride family night hosted by Carson City Toyota. Other activities around the capital city include a Muscle Powered afternoon hike, art showings, library activities, a gold and silver rush presentation at the Nevada State Museum and more.

The Silver State celebrates its birthday this week in Carson City and will put on a statehood celebration like no other as Nevada Day comes into full swing, featuring the annual parade down Carson Street on Saturday, a carnival at Mills Park, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, activities for adults and kids, contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit every wild hair.

It's that spooky time again, when the leaves begin to fall, Nevada Day is gearing up to bring us the best parade in the state, and our little ghouls and goblins are putting together their terrifying and adorable costumes in preparation for sugary chaos.

While haze from nearby Sierra fires may linger some, we're looking at another pleasant fall day around the capital city heading into Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019. Events locally include a ribbon cutting and outdoor moving showing at the new Schulz Ranch Park, workshops, a women's safety meeting, a pumpkin patch for kids at Carson Mall, plus art showings and public talks. After hours it will be toasts, cheers and business networking all around at the Dayton Taphouse. Enjoy the day.

The Carson Mall is inviting all children to come and decorate pumpkins in time for Halloween. Children are invited to get creative with pumpkin decorating, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Tuesday through Saturday, Oct. 19.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

Sierra Lutheran High School will host the 2nd Annual Christ IS Christmas Craft Fair November 9-10 in the Norm Brauer Gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A wide variety of over 40 vendors offering everything from handmade Christmas decorations and gifts, to food samples, to art and jewelry booths and much more will be on display throughout the weekend.

Happy Saturday, Carson City! We're going to have a warm day in the low 70s, so be sure to throw on your t-shirts which may be the last time this fall (barring the typical end of November inexplicable heat wave).
