Looking ahead to Wednesday, we can expect sunny skies and continued highs in the mid-50s. Midweek events include a Dayton chamber breakfast with the founder of the Desert Pigs cleanup nonprofit group. Plus there's the first of 5 days of Valentine-themed festivities that begins at Carson Mall; an open house at Bethlehem Lutheran School, a CASA information hour, a Carson City School District meeting regarding proposed middle school zone modification. Plus there's a yoga class, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and more.

Come on down to market at Fuji Park in Carson City and find some great treasures, lots of vendors to choose from. There is jewelry, arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles and so much more. Hello fellow anglers, Not to much fishing going on with out crazy weather patterns. But I did have a chance to venture down to the California Sport and Boat Show a couple weeks ago. If you have never been, I highly recommended you set the date for next year.

Carson Mall, 1223 South Carson Street, in Carson City will host a series of Valentine events, Feb. 12-16, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The mall will feature vendors, free Valentine Photos by Magical Moments, and chocolate dipped strawberries.

From Feb. 12 through Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visit inside the mall and make a Valentine for a loved one. Then, make another Valentine for a Senior that will be delivered to local retirement homes.

On Feb. 15 Carson Mall will host Family Bingo Night. Proceeds will benefit Carson High School’s Safe and Sober Grad Night.

The Union will host a dining fundraiser for the Greenhouse Project on Friday, and artist Jakota Wass performs at Bella Vita Bistro. The 43rd annual Wild Sheep Show will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention. Comedian Marc Yaffee headlines the Carson Comedy Club on Saturday with much more in store for the weekend! Happy Saturday Carson City! We have a bunch of great events going on in the region throughout the weekend, so check below to see what’s happening!

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Nevada Artists Association New Year’s Show, and there’s a historical Curry family presentation at the Nevada State Museum. Famed country rock band I See Hawks in L.A. perform at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse on Saturday. Combined with live music at Bella Vita Bistro, there’s plenty to do and see around the state capitol. Read on for more.

We're bringing our very own bridal faire to Dayton this Sunday, Jan. 12, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Mark Twain Community Center. We will have several vendors there to chat with you and to help you get started on your wedding planning.
Free admission, free parking and raffles, too. Vendor participation is free.

Come on down to the flea market and shop for your long lost treasures! Many vendors to choose from, old and new. Lots of antiques, jewelry, arts, crafts, collectibles and so much more. Heading into Christmas Eve, activities around the capital city are winding down, but the last minute shopping will continue, so prepare for that rush on the roadways and at local stores. It is the last day of the Holiday Craft Show at Carson Mall, so stop on by. There are no planned Muscle Powered fitness events scheduled. Heading into Monday, it sure does feel like Christmas around the capital City. With only two shopping days left until Christmas be sure stop by the Carson Mall for the final days of its Holiday Craft Show. Weather wise we're looking at some valley snow showers into the afternoon and evening. Activities include a spirited discussion by local historian CW Bayer about the origins of Reno's tawdry reputation, plus Carson Cigar Company will hold its annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. The spirit of Christmas is in the air as we head into the final stretch of the work week. Thursday events around the capital city feature an afternoon hike hosted by Muscle Powered, a Carson City tradition with the return of Joyful Noise Holiday Community Show at the Brewery Arts Center and more.

Clouds will roll into the capital city region Tuesday keeping temperatures quite chilly. Happenings around town include organized morning and evening fitness walks, a "Stuff the Bus Toy Drive" at Capital Ford, a Planning Commission meeting on the proposed Andersen Ranch development and a Posada event at Mark Twain Elementary. Plus, the Carson City School Orchestra Program will hold its annual Holiday Concert at the community center, The Peanuts Gang Trio will hold a free holiday concert at Sassafras, and more.

The countdown to Christmas is on as we head into the first day of the work week. Events around the capital city Monday include a free yoga class offered through Partnership Carson City, the first day kickoff of a Holiday Gift Making Camp at the Brewery Arts Center, a Carson River Trails Project open house hosted by Parks, Recreation and Open Space, a Carson City Democratic luncheon featuring a Bernie Sanders campaign presentation, West Coast swing dancing at Carson Lanes and more.

With activities lining up around the capital city through the weekend, Thursday events around the region include a meeting of the Healthy Communities Coalition in Silver Springs, an afternoon hike hosted by Muscle Powered, and a Carson City CASA volunteer information hour and training seminar. Along the music front, CHS Band will host its winter concert at the Carson City Community Center and our own local country music star and Nashville recording artist Art Mulcahy will be at Jimmy G's. Happy Saturday Carson City! Tired of the fog yet? Well, there's a big storm that's scheduled to push in tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how that changes the weather.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of holiday events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space invites the community to the inaugural Homestead Holidays event at Silver Saddle Ranch, Dec. 13-15, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night. Homestead Holidays is intended to be an old-fashioned holiday celebration with handcrafted decorations, holiday lights ornamenting historic ranch buildings, and family activities for all ages.

The days keep moving along, ever closer to the weekend and huge helpings of Christmas holiday activities. Thursday events around the capital city include a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, an afternoon hike hosted by Muscle Powered, a meeting with the developer of the proposed Andersen Ranch, a presentation: "Feathers and Furs of the Carson Valley" at the River Fork Ranch, an "End to Prohibition Party" at Gather restaurant, and more.

The break in the stormy weather was a short one, with more precipitation later in the day Wednesday, forecasters say. Activities around Carson City on Dec. 4 include a "Red Kettle" job hiring event at the Carson City Salvation Army, a Fitness Lab grand opening on Minnesota Street, a "Get Fit with Fight Camp" at Yaple's Ballroom, art showings, library activities, classes and more.

The annual Carson Mall Holiday Craft Show is now underway! Every day until Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can visit the Carson Mall in Carson City, which has been turned into a winter wonderland.

Snow days, snow way. At least that's what the weather forecast calls for Tuesday. We'll see mostly cloudy skies before another chance of rain or snow arrives midweek and then a larger storm in time for the weekend. As the saying goes of Nevada weather: Wait a minute and it will change. It is also #GivingTuesday. If you have a favorite organization, it's a good time to send a few dollars their way. Around town there's art showings, a fitness walk, hike, dance classes and an old school film favorite at the Brewery Arts Center hosted by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club.
