Spring has sprung

Hello fellow anglers. A very happy Father's day to all the dads out there. Spring has sprung and summer is officially starting this Saturday. Only one bad thing about summer, is that now the days will start getting shorter each day by one minute. But we still have plenty of time to get outdoors to fish and camp.

Spring has sprung and new green leaves are starting to push through, along with the first flower buds on fruit trees, and the always too-early daffodils that pop up before first frost ends. Soon the pastures will be green again and Spring and Summer flowers will come through and liven up our region.

The early farmers market hosted by Due Sorella (Two Sisters) is up and running with spring produce ready for your table.

Located in the parking lot behind 202 N. Curry Street, the market will be open for business every Saturday through May 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Happy Sunday Carson City! It'll be another warm day today with a high of 76 degrees and a gentle breeze. There's a host of activities Friday and, looking ahead, a bevy of fun Saturday including a Mother's Day craft fair at the Carson City Community Center, a Star Wars themed bicycle safety day, a wine, cheese and dessert ride aboard the V&T, an early opening of the downtown farmer's market, the May Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, a memorial walk, presentations, comedy, live music and more. Oh what a difference the sunshine makes. The second day of May in Carson City will bring warming temperatures with a daytime high in the low 70s. The event lineup Thursday includes a law enforcement memorial at the capitol complex, a hike at Clear Creek, art showings, a lecture on the historic Transcontinental Railroad, live music and more.
