Wisconsin woman dies in ski accident at Lake Tahoe resort
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 02/17/2016 - 12:49pmA 77-year-old Wisconsin woman died Tuesday morning in a ski accident at Heavenly Mountain Resort, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Kathryn Strangman of Madison died of injuries after ski patrol had attempted CPR at Heavenly's Boulder Lodge on the Nevada side. She had struck a tree while skiing, said DCSO Sgt. Pat Brooks. The sheriff's office was contacted at 11:44 a.m. Tuesday.
An autopsy is scheduled and the accident is under investigation.

Vehicle crash at Highway 50 East and Deer Run causes traffic delays

Carson City fire department and sheriff's deputies were called to a two vehicle crash Friday night at Highway 50 East and Deer Run Road. The crash, involving two pickups, was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. Arriving Carson City firefighters report there were no injuries.

Vehicle crash at Hot Springs Road apartment causes gas leak and evacuation, one injured
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 02/10/2016 - 11:21pmUPDATE: 11:48PM: At least one person inside an apartment was injured after being struck by a vehicle the caused a gas leak in the 600 block of Old Hot Spring Road. The crash forced the evacuation of 15 to 20 people before the broken gas lines were sealed.
The male adult victim was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

Carson City emergency crews called to crash at Lompa and Sherman

Two children and an adult have been taken to the hospital for injuries, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel. Traffic is being directed from Sherman onto Nye street.

A winter storm with an atmospheric river is on its way and should last through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Deputies investigate crashes on north and south Carson Street involving possible DUI driver

The suspect hit an unoccupied park car and several pylons in the street before coming to a stop, facing traffic, in the middle of Carson Street. Bail: $1,500.

Wild horse herd makes its way into northeast side of Carson City

In these photos taken by Carson City Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel, the horses typically stay around the hillside and into Lyon and Storey counties but were crossing the area near Arrowhead and Bowers. Motorists should be cautious traveling through the area.

The man was found safe and not hurt at 8:52 p.m. Saturday after he was reported missing late that afternoon, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office late that afternoon, said Sgt. Pat Brooks.
