CARSON CITY — A total of 93 Career and Technical Education (CTE) and HOSA (Future Health Professionals) students competed in the Nevada State Leadership Conference held at the Rio in Las Vegas March 18-20.

There were a total of 74 students from Carson High School (CHS), 6 from Pioneer High School (PHS) and 13 from Carson Middle School (CMS). More than 1,000 students from across the state of Nevada competed in more than 40 medical competition events.

And that may happen today with gusty winds to usher in another storm, expected to bring up to 2 feet of snow around Lake Tahoe. A series of storms will move into the Carson City region Monday through Thursday bringing periods of gusty winds, valley rain and Sierra snow, according to the National Weather Service.

The 4-star rating for Banner Churchill was based on 100 rigorously tested measurements in quality and safety, such as patient experience, timeliness and effectiveness of care, complication rates and other factors.

While many in Western Nevada will be celebrating the first day of Spring on Wednesday after having experienced a sometimes wild, wet and stormy winter, Mother Nature appears to have her own agenda ahead with valley rain and Sierra snow in the forecast beginning late Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Two men were arrested early Saturday morning for suspicion of felony burglary, misdemeanor petit larceny and attempting to obtain money under false pretenses, a Carson City sheriff's deputy reported.
