Kite Flying Weekend coming May 18-19 to Dangberg Historic Park

Something in the Wind, a free kite flying event, will take place at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

Clark County Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson dies at 52 at Carson Tahoe Medical Center

Flags around the capital city flew at half mast today following the death of Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson, Democratic Majority Whip, of Las Vegas.

Thompson was in care at Carson-Tahoe Medical Center when he passed away early Saturday morning.

He was 52 years old. At this time, no official cause of death has been reported.

St Peter's to Dedicate Community Labyrinth

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will be celebrating the dedication of its newly built Community Labyrinth on May 4, 2019 with a service beginning at 12:30 in the afternoon. The members of St. Peter’s parish invite you to join them in walking the labyrinth beginning at 1 in the afternoon as a participant of the World Labyrinth Day- Walk as One at 1 campaign. Spring is finally here, and Carson City is decked out in her spring finery. Sunday will be perfect for a stroll around town, so while you are out and about, stop by Mills Park for the Parks Foundation’s monthly open house at the Wungnema House, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The Wungnema House is the charming stone cottage located on the east side of Mills Park across from Carson High. It was built by a family of skilled Hopi stonemasons shortly after WWII and served as the family’s home until the early 1970s.

There is no admission fee, and all are welcome.
