Sierra Lutheran to Host 7th and 8th Grade Visitation Day on October 15

This event, which is free to all 7th and 8th graders across the five county area, is carefully designed to give students a multi-dimensional look into what has made Sierra Lutheran one of the top high schools in the region.
Laps for Lungs at Carson City BMX track set for Friday
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 09/08/2019 - 8:47pmCarson City BMX is hosting a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Laps for Lungs on Friday, Sept. 13. This is separate from CCBMX racing schedule.
The laps will be done during the practice times (6-7 pm). You do not need to be a USABMX member to participate in this worthy cause. You do need to fill out a 1-day trial membership (free).

Want to volunteer at the Nevada State Museum? There's training Monday and Tuesday for those interested. Other activities to get your first day of the work week going include art showings, West Coast swing dancing, and a presentation of the Eureka & Palisade Railroad at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Are you a Raider fan? Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will hold its season opener game watch party at Jimmy Gs Cigar Bar. Enjoy your day.
Muscle Powered Ladies MTB Ride, September 10

Meetup at Foothill Dr just off of N Winnie Ln. Rides start at 5:30 PM and are open to all skill levels.

Temporary Schedule for the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range begins Tuesday

Daylight hours are beginning to reflect the occurrence of seasonal change. To ensure adequate and safe accommodations for range enthusiasts the range must adopt the new operational hours.

There's no better place than Virginia City for a parade, and the Comstock continues to honor those who use elbow grease to keep the gears of our great American way grinding. Thank you. Other activities include a Tahoe beach cleanup, art showings, swing dancing and an interfaith picnic at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City, where folks of all religious stripes come together in fellowship and kindness.
