This Saturday, Dec. 15, marks the annual Cookies with Santa celebration in Carson City at Cafe at Adele’s, offering Christmas cheer to all who attend and providing gifts for children in need. The first annual Fill A Trailer Kids Toy Drive is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Martin Auto Color, 2765 U.S. Highway 50 East in Carson City.

Goal of the event is to gather as many toys and children's clothing items for all ages as possible; enough to fill a 14-foot utility trailer to the top.

Unwrapped gifts would be much appreciated. Canned goods are also welcomed.

This event, hosted by J.T. and Friends, is in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys For Tots and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center.

Organizers of the 26th annual KTVN Channel 2 News Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive were set up early at the Governor's Mansion, 606 N. Mountain Street in Carson City, on Friday morning, accepting shelf-stable food and cash donations on behalf of Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
