Students in the Carson City School District returned for their first day of in-person classes today, to much smaller class sizes, socially distanced desks and masks.

A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Sunday night in the area of Fairview and Roop streets for three failure to appear warrants out of Carson City, a contempt of court warrant out of Reno Township, and for suspicion of reckless driving, speeding more than 35 mph over the limit and driving with a suspended license.

With the anticipation of students and employees once again physically going back to school in Carson City this week, the Carson City School District has provided a guide for parents to use to perform health and wellness screenings of their students before they step on a school bus or enter a school campus each day.

A COVID-19 mitigation task force on Thursday denied requests from the state’s two urban counties to reopen bars, expressing doubt about whether doing so would stem the tide of outbreaks tied to house parties and concern about a lack of buy-in from all local jurisdictions in Southern Nevada.

It is unknown at this time if he had underlying conditions. CCHHS is also reporting thirteen new positive cases and elven additional recoveries. This brings the total number of cases to 567, with 430 recoveries and 10 deaths, 127 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services reports Thursday, July 23, 2020 that there are 12 new positive cases and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 555, with 419 recoveries and nine deaths, 127 cases remain active.
