The Nature Conservancy Introduces New River Fork Ranch Preserve Manager

“I’ve been working for The Nature Conservancy as a Restoration Technician at the McCarran Ranch Preserve on the Truckee River for nearly four years,” explains Leonard. “Now, I’m really looking forward to bringing my conservation skills and background to the beautiful Carson Valley. I’m excited to engage with community members to make the most of this incredible preserve and to build on the success that TNC and partners have had here over nearly two decades.”

SOSMGC is open to golfers 55 years of age and older, and all handicap levels. Dues are $75 and includes your membership and handicap posting in the Northern Nevada Golf Association GHIN service.
As a member, you are entitled to reduced green fees anytime you play Silver Oak in 2019. The season tees off on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. There will be coffee and donuts served opening day at 8 a.m. along with a short informational meeting.

Doors open at 5 pm. A buffet dinner featuring both a vegetarian and meat option starts at 6 pm. Emcee Monty Wolf of KOH radio takes the stage after dinner for the raffle, prizes and auction or silent auction.

Both Ron and James grew up in the same area of the country, albeit at different times. Ron grew up in the 1950s and 1960s in a small town in Illinois across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. James grew up during the 1970s in a suburban area of the city on the Missouri side of the river. James’s mother even attended the high school that was the arch-rival to Ron’s in his sports, cross-country and track.

Dale Poune is a musician and songwriter. He plays guitar, bass, mandolin, dobro and sings. Poune is experienced at Rock, Blues, R&B, Country, smooth jazz and Bluegrass.
