The Nevada Artists Association Gallery starts off 2021 with the New Year's Show, a collection of over 65 member entries in categories, including oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, 3D, dry media and photography.

CARSON CITY — Fire Prevention Week 2020 is October 4-10. The Nevada Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshal Division, is proud and excited to hold its 4th annual poster contest. Winners of four categories will have their artwork featured on billboards statewide.

The Nevada Artists Association is excited to present the 2020 “Summer Show." This judged show represents a collection of 74 plus photographs, paintings, drawings, mixed media and 3D pieces by Nevada Artists Association members and non-members from Northern Nevada.

A virtual studio event, #QuarantineArt, is set to premiere Sunday at noon. Tune in to watch and get a peek into the life and artwork that has been created over the past week alone in Northern Nevada.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region packed with excitement over the next three days. Events include the Silver State Art Festival at Fuji Park, suicide awareness walks in Carson City, a Celtic faire at Dangberg Home Ranch, the ninth annual Edible Pedal bike ride at Bowers Mansion, train rides in Virginia City and much more!

Presented by the Nevada Artists Association, the Spirit of America art show brought dozens of colors to Carson City on Saturday.

Dear Friends, happy spring time! While our newest season officially arrived March 20th, it seems just now I am starting to believe winter is finally losing its grip and giving way to the kinder, gentler, days of spring. With each day, I see a little more of the renewal of life we have come to associate with this time of year.

Governor-elect Sisolak and the First Lady are honored to announce a statewide art competition for students from kindergarten through 5th grade.

“For me, home means Nevada because it’s where I’ve raised my two incredible daughters," said Governor-elect Steve Sisolak. "This year, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Nevadans across the state, and learn why home means Nevada to them. Now, it’s your turn. Whether it’s your family and neighbors, your school and friends, Nevada’s great outdoors, or anything in between — show off your creativity and why home means Nevada to you!”

The Nevada Artists Association invites all artists to enter its 66th annual Nevada Day Art Show. This is a judged Carson City show and there isn't a set theme, although the show committee will select a painting for the coveted "Spirit of Nevada" award.

The Nevada Artists Association released the names of the winners of their "Spirit of America" Photography Show, which will be viewable to the public through Sept. 7 at the Brewery Arts Center.

Bike Month in Carson City always brings fun community activities, including the annual Celebrity Invitational Bike Ride. Strap on a helmet and join some of our town’s notables on a ride through the historic west side. Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery is holding a reception for Jean Kvam, whose oils, pastels, and pottery will be on prominent display. The Historical Societies in Dayton and Douglas County are hosting lectures this evening: you just have to decide between learning about the Nevada Women’s Project or artist Hans Mayer Kassel.

Explore the technique and apply imagination to create amazingly fun and interesting art through line work. Join Emily Reid, an amazing children’s instructor and artist for an all day art & bonding workshop for young artists who love art & the adults in their lives who want to join in on the fun. This will be a fun filled day where we work independently and together using a variety of mediums including pencils, pastels, paint, and more…

All ages and skill levels are welcome- projects can be adjusted according to skill level.

Mike Bond is known locally for his Western Art, which he creates from his home in Sparks. This Friday, April 6th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, please join Carson City Art Gallery for a special Artist Reception for this very talented man that works in oils.

Kenny Arnold is a local resident of Carson City, born and raised in the Bay area. Kenny began oil painting classes at the Brewery Arts Center in January 2013, with previous endeavors as a self-taught artist using pencil drawings. Kenny has also creates in watercolor and pastels. Besides creating art paintings based on desire, he also takes on commission art requests.

The Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] presents its exhibition, "Wish You Were Here", by artist Susanne Forestieri at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Friday, October 6, 5-7pm. The exhibit will be in the gallery from October 6, 2017 – January 18, 2018.

The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free and the public is cordially invited. The gallery is open to the public Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.

What to do on a Wednesday? If you travel down this list, you’ll find the new Wheeled Food Wednesdays at the Brewery Arts Center featuring a line-up of local food trucks and family fun. Jazz and Beyond brings you a free outdoor concert with Lake Effect in the Comma Coffee Courtyard. Chris Bayer transforms into Major Ormsby at Dangberg Home Historic Ranch’s Chautauqua tonight. Get on the Highway to the Danger Zone and it will take you to Top Gun on the big screen at Galaxy Theaters.

The Carson Mall Fine Arts Faire has a powerful synergy of businesses working together and artist advocacy to provide a visual arts show for the Carson City community.

On November 3, 4 and 5, the Carson Mall located at 1313 South Carson Street, Carson City will be hosting the first ever Fine Arts Faire, which will include the work of over 25 artists from primarily Northern Nevada and as far away as Kalispell, Montana.

The art gallery at Fritsch Elementary School was an overwhelming success!

After a week of working on their projects, students showed off their works of art at the school on Thursday, May 22nd. With a fourth grade violinist playing in the background, family and friends strolled around looking at over 400 creative and original masterpieces.

Fritsch Elementary School will be ending the school year with a splash of local color! The school has invited local artists into the classroom to share their expertise and creativity with the students. “Art taps into all parts of the brain and allows us to reach students who have talents that otherwise would not be realized,” stated Principal Mary Garey.

The Nevada Artists Association is inviting artists from Northern Nevada and California to enter this art exhibit at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center Gallery. The "Spring Show" is open to all artists, NAA membership is not required. Opening April 28th this show runs through June 27th. The Gallery is open 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Saturday.

The Oncology on Canvas Wine Reception will be a special evening of art, wine, appetizers, entertainment, silent auction, 50/50 mystery raffle and socializing. Meet Dr. Perez and take a tour of the facility. Local created art pieces along with pieces from the Lilly Oncology on Canvas National Tour will be on display.

The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, 6 p.m. at the Sierra Nevada Cancer Center, 1460 S. Curry Street in Carson City.
