Thirteen seniors from Carson High School’s Advanced Photography program have work in the exhibit which is available online at ccainv.org.
Nevada Humanities Announces Nature-Themed Books for 2021 Nevada Reads Program

Nevada Reads will feature two memoirs — Miracle Country: A Memoir by Kendra Atleework, and World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments by Aimee Nezhukumatathil.
Nevada Humanities to Feature Programs Around Civic Engagement in 2021

Mellon Foundation as part of a new national initiative, Why It Matters: Civic and Electoral Participation, which will explore civic participation as it relates to electoral engagement in a multivocal democracy.

Arts and humanities strengthen the Nevada economy by generating $8.7 billion in total economic activity annually and by supporting more than 40,900 Nevada workers, according to data from the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency that works to make the arts accessible to all Nevadans. Nevada Humanities awards nearly $369K to 46 statewide cultural organizations

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents an exhibition, "Faces and Places" by nine northern Nevada artists in the Community Center’s Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition runs through February 27, 2020. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room; the artists will give brief talks about their work at 5:30 p.m.

The exhibition is presented in partnership with the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) University Libraries Special Collections and Archives. Snapshot is co-curated by Peter Michel, Interim Director of Special Collections and Archives, and Aaron Mayes, Curator for Visual Materials. The exhibition will be on display December 5, 2019, through January 23, 2020.
