Submitted by BikeCarson.com on Sat, 05/10/2014 - 9:14pmBike to Work Week starts May 12th! Many cyclists around the country will be taking to the streets next week to use their bicycles for their daily transportation needs. While many of us are pretty comfortable riding bikes for recreational use, we tend to do these activities in ideal locations away from traffic where there isn’t much to think about besides having a good time. Fuji Park and Bailey Fishing Pond will suffer
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 03/06/2014 - 11:57amWe were relieved to read that not all tribal members are supporting the proposed motocross track on the Washoe Tribe’s land. It gave us hope that the Washoe people really do believe in their statement that “the Washoe Tribe have long considered themselves stewards of our land and continue to maintain that position, never to compromise or sacrifice our environmental and archeologically sensitive lands.”
In our opinion the development of a motocross track in the proposed location would be a complete contradiction to this statement.

Submitted by editor on Mon, 01/20/2014 - 5:21pmWith the lack of ice and snow on the roadways and sunny days ahead, we are seeing an increase in motorcycle, scooter and bicycle traffic on the roadways around Carson City.
This increases the chances of crashes on these modes of transportation as most drivers do not expect them to be out and about this time of year.
Remember, due to their size and design, they are difficult to see when sharing the roadway with larger vehicles. As a motorist, you should be always aware of the traffic around and ahead of you.
