What Works: The Labor of Letting Go


This is the first Labor Day I didn’t force myself to work. After the Temple Burn at Burning Man, I decided I needed to dedicate a little time today to a different kind of work. That work was emotional in nature.

See, the Temple Burn on the Playa is a somber moment. It’s a time of reflection, letting go, and grief. The purpose is to release pain, bad habits, and what no longer serves.

Ribs and cantaloupes are on the menu today if you want to head out to Sparks or Fallon, respectively. Stay local and let the Elks Club serve you up some pancakes at their monthly breakfast. Gusty winds will arrive in the region Wednesday and continue through Friday, especially from the Reno and Carson City area northward into far northeast California and northwest Nevada causing forecasters to be concerned about fire danger.
