He will be lobbying on behalf of Compassion & Choices for medical aid-in-dying legislation due to be introduced during the 81st session, which begins February 1st. The bill gives terminally ill people with six months or less to live the option of taking medicine to end their life peacefully.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 that there are three additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. CCHHS is also reporting 111 new cases and 48 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region.

Noting that demonstrations in the capital city have remained, for the most part, peaceful since March, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said public safety remains the first and foremost priority as emotions over the presidential election continue to run high.
