'MaskurAid Ball' to raise money for The Greenhouse Project with dinner, raffles, and more

The Greenhouse Project is proud to announce the first MaskurAid Ball, taking place Jan. 4, 2021 in an event where masks are mandatory and costumes are optional.

Taking place at The Governor’s Mansion Nevada Room, the event will observe all social distancing and restricted capacity guidelines.Doors open at 5 p.m., a prize will be awarded for the Best Decorated Mask.

Carson City library director to speak at Democratic tele-luncheon

Douglas County flagged for elevated COVID cases; public asked to test, follow CDC guidelines

MINDEN, Nev. — The Nevada COVID Task Force notified Douglas County that they are flagged for elevated COVID-19 disease transmission. Douglas County saw a spike in infection rates back in July, but then numbers declined for several months.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, Nov 15, 2020 that there are 369 new cases and 26 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. Of these 369 new cases, 343 are offenders in the Warm Springs Correctional Facility. This brings the total number of cases to 2,638, with 1,948 recoveries and 27 deaths; 663 cases remain active.

Governor Sisolak announces positive COVID-19 test result

As part of a regular testing protocol, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak underwent routine COVID-19 testing on Friday, November 13 in Carson City. A rapid test provided a positive result. The Governor also received a diagnostic PCR test and those results are pending at this time.

At this time, the Governor is not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Earlier this week, the Governor expressed feeling fatigue, however he attributed this to his demanding schedule. No other symptoms were experienced.
