To celebrate National Wing Day on July 29, The Fox Brewpub held a wing eating contest. Contestants had seven minutes to eat as many wings as possible. The winner consumed 28 wings. See video snippet here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFKd5NNqwpk

The Carson City Library is gearing up for back to school with an end of summer party on Saturday, August 10. Youth participating in library activities this summer as part of the Summer Learning Challenge are encouraged to dress up as their favorite sci-fi character and join staff to wrap up the summer devoted to space and science themes.

UPDATED: The winner of the Bret Andreas State Farm’s Cutest Dog of Carson City contest is Bella, the cutest Yorkie Poo, whose owner is Stan Jones. The contest was held on Saturday, July 27, to benefit Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

This year, the Carson City Fair Coloring Contest sponsored by Carson Kids Dental was a huge hit throughout the weekend, and over 50 children in three age categories participated with over 300 votes.

The contest this year featured a barnyard scene and was available for print out before the fair as well as during the fair at a booth set up in the Exhibit Hall.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days, including the Carson City Fair, Karson Kruzers Run What Cha Brung car show, a fundraiser bike ride, cooking classes, tours at the Nevada State Museum, train rides on Saturday and much more!

The Carson City Fair is upon us this weekend, bringing fun new activities that are certain to become traditions for Carsonites young and young-at-heart!

The Carson City Photo Club has announced the winners of this month's contest, with the theme "light and light painting."

Heading into the Independence Day holiday weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to keep the next three days jam-packed with excitement.

The Carson City Photo Club has announced the winners of its monthly photo contest. The theme addressed by this month's winners was "Frame Within a Frame."

The Fourth of July will be colored with parades, barbecues, carnivals, concerts and plenty of fireworks around Carson City, Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City.

According to Reader's Digest, the "Nicest Places in America" contest is meant to inspire hope through sharing stories of kindness through America.
