A walk-in vaccination clinic will be at Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive. Drive-through clinics will be held at Nevada National Guard, 244 Fairview Drive and East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts, Station 12, 3620 N. Sunridge Drive. A proclamation from Mayor Bob Crowell has proclaimed Oct. 16 is Community Flu Vaccination Day emphasizing the importance of vaccination as the best defense against flu and serves as a reminder that free influenza vaccinations will be offered to the community Saturday, Oct.

•In late May, two decades’ worth of customer records from a recently closed boat company in Portland, Oregon, were discovered in a dumpster. The records contained personal information, including Social Security numbers, according to Portland television station KGW, which had received a tip about the abandoned records.

Tort Reform Attorney Questions History Making Hepatitus C Verdict in One of Nation’s “Judicial heckHoles”
Submitted by on Thu, 05/13/2010 - 11:01amA Clark County District Court jury last Friday ordered Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Baxter Healthcare Services to pay a combined $500 million in punitive damages to a Nevada man who contracted Hepatitis C during an outbreak two years ago.
The jury award was the largest in Nevada history.
In a statement issued shortly after the jury reached its decision, Teva said it planned to contest the verdict. A spokesman for Baxter later confirmed the company will also most likely appeal.
