Couple arrested for felony child abuse, drug trafficking; admits to drug use, sales in front of child

A 44-year-old Carson City woman and a 61-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the 2600 block of Blossom View Lane Friday afternoon for suspicion of felony child abuse, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking a controlled substance level 1.

According to the report, Robin Marie Jensen and Steven Scott Brown were arrested by Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force detectives after receiving information that Jensen and Brown were actively selling methamphetamine out of their residence.

A 48-year-old Carson City man is facing additional counts of sexual assault and lewdness with children, as well as violating bail conditions after his initial arrest in mid-December for felony lewdness with a child.

Last Saturday I was part of the Rotary Club's Shopping Spree. This annual event pairs a Rotarian with a needy child in hopes of purchasing gifts for the child and members of his/her family.

The young man that I accompanied was a rather precocious and talkative eight-year old who was a bit jaded when it came to acknowledging the magic of Christmas. However, during the shopping part of the activity, my new young friend became very animated and hopeful as he talked about selecting gifts for his family and for himself.

A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for domestic battery second offense after allegedly attacking her ex.

According to the report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Wednesday on a report of a domestic battery. Upon arrival they spoke with the reporting party who said the woman is the mother of their child, who had arrived at the home uninvited.

Carson City man killed on tribal land tried and acquitted in 2019 on lewdness with a child charges (Updated)

UPDATE: A 23-year-old Carson City man who died Friday from multiple gunshot wounds was tried and acquitted at a Lake Tahoe court earlier this year on charges of indecent exposure and lewdness with a child under the age of 12, court records show. Kyle Sullivan Bryan was found not guilty by a jury on both counts on April 11, 2019 in El Dorado County Superior Court in South Lake Tahoe.

Carson City man arrested for felony lewdness with a minor under 14, held on $250,000 bail

A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested on a felony warrant for lewdness with a child under the age of 14 Thursday evening in the 2300 block of Gregg Street.

According to the report, Eugene Thomas Nichols Jr. was arrested on a warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court on Nov. 26.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. The Orchestra Program of Carson City School District is holding its Holiday Concert Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Just the idea of a concert in Carson City is exciting enough, but it gets even better because this musical event will cost audiences absolutely nothing except a little time and effort getting there.
