A 32 year-old Reno man was arrested Friday evening at 7:34 p.m. in the area of North Carson Street and College Parkway on felony drug possession and a host of misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

A 44-year-old transient man was arrested Thursday afternoon in the area of Curry at Betts for possessing methamphetamine, after a routine traffic stop.

Two from California with warrants were arrested Monday outside the Walmart store in Gardnerville after leading Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies on a vehicle chase in which the stolen SUV they were driving was abandoned and found to contain 5 pounds of marijuana.

August comes to an end today, and with it the end of an era. You are reading my last weekday list of things to do. Celebrate the unofficial end of summer with ‘Cruise Night’ at the Carson Mall, some great live music, or a comedy show.

MINDEN — An Alturas, Calif., man is in custody following a chase involving a motorhome late Sunday night that began in South Lake Tahoe then eastbound Highway 50 on Spooner and ended with a crash into a building on Highway 395 in Gardnerville.

It is finally Friday. As August melts away, it brings us closer to the new school year. Carson High returning students are invited to the Senator Kick-off this morning to get their fill of back-to-school updates. Families will love the Movie in the Park; bring a blanket or chairs and come prepared to enjoy ‘Coco.’ Three days of high-flying fun begins today at Heritage Park in Gardnerville as the Splash Dogs competition gets underway. You will always find live music around town on Fridays, but during the Jazz and Beyond Festival, it seems like music is everywhere.

Three people were taken into custody Friday morning at 7:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Carson Street, Carson City Sheriff's deputies said, each charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.

An 18 year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday morning at 4:38 a.m. in the 3900 block of Pheasant Drive for misdemeanor obstruction and minor consuming alcohol following a chase that began after she refused orders to stop, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

This is going to be an epic Fathers’ Day weekend. Carson City Off-Road sponsored by Epic Rides has taken over downtown with everything mountain bike and plays host to a free Music Festival in McFadden Plaza. Don’t miss Arts and Culture Day at the Nevada State Railroad Museum with unlimited rides on the Steam Train, special vendors, and more. Stewart Indian School will be a hotspot of activity with the annual Fathers’ Day PowWow underway. This is just the tip of the iceberg, read on for more fun than you’ll know what to do with.

Carson City again welcomes the Fathers’ Day PowWow to the Stewart Indian School Campus for a weekend of dancing, vendors and crafts, and community. Now, when I say bicycle invasion, I’m not exaggerating. The Carson City Off-Road hosted by Epic Rides brings mountain bike enthusiasts from all over to compete in our hills. You’ll find downtown road-closures to make way for the race routes, a bike expo, beer garden, and a music festival on Saturday. I was going to write about how this year marks the sesquicentennial of Decoration Day, predecessor to the modern Memorial Day holiday.

A 52-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Tuesday in the area of South Carson and Eagle Station for suspicion of felony DUI with a prior third felony DUI conviction, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

With live music, improv and comedy, theater, karaoke, and some pre-Cinco de Mayo celebrations throughout Carson City and beyond, you’ll have plenty of reasons to hit the town.

A 30 year-old Carson City man was taken into custody early Saturday morning at 12:08 a.m. in the area of East Fifth Street and Airport Road for felony eluding police with endangerment following a brief car chase, a Carson City Sheriff’s deputy reported.

A Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony possession of stolen property, burglary, uttering a forged instrument, using false identification and misdemeanor contempt of court, a CCSO detective said.
