Mustangs at College Pkwy, Airport Road in East Carson City
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 12/29/2018 - 5:31pmA pair of mustangs were grazing on a common grass area at the corner of East College Parkway and Airport Road Saturday afternoon as traffic whizzed by.
Motorists should watch for wild horses, which have been spotted with some frequency in Northeast Carson City of late, and slow down if they are in the area.
Law enforcement has been called out multiple times in recent days reference to mustangs at the busy intersection.
Carson City buck enjoys fruits of his labor
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 12/29/2018 - 3:12pmA large eight-point Mule buck plucked fruit off high branches of an apple tree Friday afternoon on W. Telegraph Street near Mountain and Elizabeth.
The buck raised himself up on his hind legs to reach fruit that was otherwise unreachable for his does and the younger Mule deer in his band.
And, together, the deer feasted.
Frigid flight above Carson City

The air, though, was frigid and still well below freezing at about 9 a.m. Saturday morning as the balloon made its way across the Nevada state capital before finally descending in central Carson City.

Vehicle accident blocks traffic at Stewart and Robinson
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Fri, 12/28/2018 - 8:58amCarson City Sheriff's deputies are on scene of a non-injury two-vehicle accident that occurred Friday morning just after 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of N. Stewart and E. Robinson streets.
The vehicles involved, however, are blocking parts of Robinson Street as well as the No. 1 travel lane of northbound Stewart.
Motorists in the area can expect traffic delays and should consider an alternate route.
