Happy birthday Nevada: How, when and where to celebrate Nevada Day 2016 events

A parade, competitions of strength and facial hair, hot air balloons, bloody marys, a carnival, pow wow, and free chili are just a few of the festivities awaiting the capital city on Saturday.
The party begins Friday this year with a ribbon cutting celebration of the 'new' downtown. The Nevada State Museum hits its 75th Anniversary this year and will have a day full of fun and surprises. Keep reading to see where you need to take advantage of all the best this holiday weekend has to offer.
RSVP Nevada Day Fair to feature Day of Service, Carson City Victory Rollers

Now in its 31st year, RSVP’s Nevada Day Carnival and Fair provides a fun family entertainment venue during the Silver State’s statehood celebration.
Nevada State Fair at Mills Park features final day with Old West cannon, gunfire reenactments

Grab the kids, your friends, and family and enjoy carnival rides, county exhibits, civil war reenactments and much more. Our neighbors to the south are celebrating, too: the 106th Annual Carson Valley Days is this weekend. If you’re looking for something quieter, the lecture on the Civil War at the Gold Hill Hotel or an author’s talk on the Ghost Railroads of Central Nevada at the Nevada State Railroad Museum might be a better bet.
Nevada State Fair returns and brings the Rendevous with it

Free to attend, the Fair features live music, carnival rides, a car show, County exhibits, civil war reenactments, and more. Free parking can be found at Carson High School.
Carson City weather: Weekend activities may be soggy with rain in the forecast
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 05/06/2016 - 12:41pmShowers and thunderstorms may develop Friday afternoon around Carson City with the potential for heavier bands of precipitation arriving early Saturday morning, a National Weather Service forecaster said.
National Weather Service meteorologist Zach Colby said the brunt of Friday’s weather will be north of Interstate 80, possibly moving southward into the afternoon and early evening.
RSVP to celebrate 31st Carson City spring carnival May 5-8 at Mills Park

It all begins on Thursday, May 5, with Dollar Night, where every ride is just $1. The fun continues at the carnival on Friday and throughout the weekend, when Wold Amusements Carnival has special all-day ride passes for $30.

Nevada Fair Kicks off day 3 with events, activities related to state culture
Submitted by Rachel Spacek on Sat, 08/01/2015 - 2:54pmFrom livestock showings to face painting and weaving, the Nevada Fair in Carson City attracts thousands to learn about Nevada culture and spend time in the community.
The four day event features livestock exhibits, local food vendors, carnival rides, games and live entertainment. Guests can park at Casino Fandango to be shuttled to the fair location at the Fairgrounds in Fuji Park. Tickets for an all day ride wristband can be purchased at the fair. Festivities began Thursday and will continue through Sunday.
Friday, July 31: Things to do in Carson City

Car lovers will want to head to the Silver Dollar Car Classic at the Max Casino, known as the Carson Station just a few days ago. The Classic moves to Mills Park for the weekend. If the Mustangs and Broncos you prefer are horses, rather than Fords, you’ll want to grab a ticket to the Bull Riding Competition at the State Fair. Carnival rides, circus performances, and live music will keep everyone entertained. Make sure to catch the shuttle from the Casino Fandango parking garage: parking at Fuji Park is extremely limited. ‘Break a leg’ to the cast of Peter Pan. Youth Theater Carson City opens tonight at the Community Center.

Nevada Fair is offically open
Submitted by admin on Thu, 07/30/2015 - 1:07pmThe Nevada Fair at Fuji Park is officially open. Reno Aces mascot Archie cut the ribbon at noon on Thursday, flanked by fair organizers and members of the Carson City Board of Supervisors.
Returning for the second year, the Nevada Fair runs today through Sunday. The premium book is open at NevadaFair.com for entries in the livestock shows as well as other competitions, including home arts, cooking, homespun items and sewing. There's also carnival rides.
RSVP Spring Fun Fair returns to Mills Park this weekend

The carnival opens at 5 pm on Thursday and Friday, at 2 pm on Saturday and Noon on Sunday. All proceeds go toward services for Carson City seniors designed to assist them to remain independent and in their own homes with dignity.
RSVP Nevada Day celebration and carnival to celebrate Silver State's 150th birthday
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 09/26/2014 - 12:41pmFor the 29th year, the Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Inc. will sponsor the Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park on Oct. 30 through Nov. 2, 2014, RSVP executive director Susan Haas announced Friday.
Earlier this year RSVP went all out over July 4 with a spectacular fireworks display, synchronized to music, to mark Nevada’s Sesquicentennial. For Nevada Day weekend, visitors can expect plenty of games, thrilling carnival rides and entertainment venues.
“We will have a lot more family fun and entertainment than ever before this year,” said Haas.
Statewide Nevada 150 events held throughout second half of September

Come down and see all the bucking broncos and barrel racing events. The rodeo runs until 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the grandstand or here.

The annual Mother's Day Spring Fair features major carnival rides, games, concessions arts, crafts, novelties and lots of food. And as what has become customary, Mom's get to ride all the carnival rides for free on Sunday, Mother's Day.
