First item up for discussion will be the possibility of incurring a “bonded indebtedness” on behalf of the school district in an amount not to exceed $13 million.
Carson City School District could save millions with purchase of former church campus

The school district will have 90 days to do all the surveys and inspections as well as decide what the campus could be, including another elementary school, middle school, fine arts center or GATE program.

At the Carson City School District Board meeting tonight, Tuesday June 25, Superintendent Richard Stokes will be giving a presentation about a possible acquisition by the school district of the old Capital Christian Center, most recently known as Redemption Church.

Over 16,000 candy stuffed eggs, the Easter Bunny and tons of fun to be had by families across Carson City. This is the 4th Annual Egg-stravaganza and will be held at Seeliger Elementary School (2800 S. Saliman Rd). FREE event.
Parking available off Baker Dr. & Fremont St. for easy access to the egg huting zones.
Please do not park in the car & bus unloading zones in front of the school (painting will be taking place on curbsides).

Local churches unite for worship event tonight in Carson City
Submitted by editor on Fri, 08/29/2014 - 9:46amSeveral local churches will be uniting together tonight to worship and pray for Carson City. The event, called "Engage" begins at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, August 29, at the Carson City Community Center.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and several local ministries will be on hand to share the work that is being done in our community. This is the third Engage event in Carson City and momentum has continued to grow with each event.

The Legacy Conference is partnering with many local businesses such as James Gaskets, DeBug Computer and the Sausage Factory to provide amazing music and incredible speakers.
Easter Egg Hunt at Carson High School, Centennial Park
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 03/26/2013 - 6:00amCapital Christian Center will host a city-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Carson High School Saturday, March 30, beginning at 10 a.m.. There will be more than 12,000 eggs for the hunt, a holiday ham give away and pictures with the Easter bunny.
They will also be using the time to “beautify” the CHS campus as with 150-plus volunteers to pull weeds, rake, sweep, etc.

Increasing the Joy in Carson City!

Increasing the Joy is making the holiday season more joyful by distributing gifts to these children, who may not have a traditional Christmas like many of us. Last year Increasing the Joy gave out 500 gifts and for 2012 we've set our goals even higher at 700 gifts. We believe that every child deserves joy.

Choose from three delicious pies, Pumpkin, Pecan or Apple, and pick up them up, Wednesday, November 21, in time for Thanksgiving. Proceeds benefit the Ron Wood Community Essentials Food Bank, the Family Vision Food Truck and the Our Time Outreach Center. One delicious pie contains a “Golden Harvest” ticket and you may win a beautiful diamond angel necklace.

This local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society was deemed “Plateau A Champion” at the spring NE Division Chorus contest. Under direction of B.J. Hill, bass for international quartet competition bronze medal winner “Special Feature”, the chorus will present an array of carols and songs of the season.

Cost to enter is $12 for singles and $20 for couples or groups. Admission is $5 adults, $3 for any student with school ID, and $3 for youth and senior citizens. Children under age 5 are admitted free. All proceeds will help fund WNC student scholarships.
