A 32 year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday evening at 6:29 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for resisting a law enforcement officer and drawing a weapon in a threatening manner, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy arrest report stated.

Trains Up Close

Crowds turned out Sunday to see vintage trains up close and experience local history in action at the Nevada State Railroad Museum off South Carson Street in Carson City.

Visitors were treated to rides aboard V&T Engine No. 25 of the original Virginia and Truckee Railroad line, as well as the Glennbrook Engine originally of the Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Company and later the Lake Tahoe Railway & Transportation Company.

Stop on I-580 leads to arrest of military deserter accused of sexually assaulting minor

A man accused of deserting the military and sexually assaulting a minor was arrested Monday by a Nevada Highway Patrol sergeant.

David L. Helm was booked into the Washoe County jail awaiting the United States Air Force to take him back to Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County near Belleville, Illinois for his court martial, said NHP Trooper Dave Gibson.
