Mac the Naw: Fish biting across Sierra lakes, rivers and reservoirs

Hello fellow anglers. Sorry I have been away for a couple weeks, had to catch up on a few things in order to start fishing again. The fishing is getting good all over our area. Before we get to our fishing report, let us remember that while we are out camping, we have to abide by some simple rules. There are no campfires allowed outside of designated campgrounds.

Fishing Report: Most roads are open, waters are clear and the fish are biting

Hello fellow anglers. Sorry, but I have been off fishing for a couple weeks. Which I will share in the reports this week.

We are now in summer, and there are a few things we have to remember.

Scattered thunderstorms were developing Sunday afternoon across the Sierra and Western Nevada, prompting a special statement by the National Weather Service.

Heat to produce swift, cold river stream flows in Douglas, southern Lyon and Mono counties

Hot weather expected through Wednesday will trigger the return to rapid melting of high elevation snowpack, that will produce increased flows in the higher elevation tributary streams and swift, cold flows for rivers and streams in the lower valleys by midweek from Lake Tahoe south through Mono County, according to the National Weather Service.

Carson City area weather: Rising temperatures prompt flood watch for south Lyon County

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for West Walker River from north of Sonora Junction in Mono County to southern Mason Valley in Lyon County from Tuesday evening June 11, 2019, until the threat has passed.

Fishing Report: Anglers are reeling them in during the warming weather

Hello fellow anglers. The official start of summer is only two weeks away and the weather has started to cooperate. Many of the passes are opening and the higher lakes are thawing out. Winter seems to get longer and longer each year. So enjoy the next two weeks of spring, because I have a feeling its going to be a hot year. Fishing has started to pick up all over the area, and with the school year ending for most kids, we are now in full camping mode. There are still some areas that are closed, due to the excessive winter we just had. I will try to keep you updated as the season progresses.

Fishing Report: Planting has begun, and anglers are already starting to reel them in

Hello fellow anglers, what great time of year. The rivers have opened in California. Which, depending on the new regulation that is being decided on, may not close on November 15th.

As well as Alpine county, the lakes in Inyo and Mono Counties have opened and have been producing some beautiful fish, which I will share later in this report. It's hard to believe how fast the time goes.
