Carson City health officials: Two bats test positive for rabies in Douglas County

Agriculture department lab confirms cases of rabies in Nevada bats
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 07/13/2020 - 8:43amSPARKS, Nev. — The Nevada Department of Agriculture Animal Disease Laboratory has confirmed seven positive rabies cases in bats in Clark and Washoe Counties. Rabies is most commonly found in bats, and bat activity tends to peak between the months of May and October throughout Nevada.

Hantavirus confirmed in South Reno just weeks after health offices confirmed rabies in local bats

Rabies is common in bats throughout Nevada, and bat activity tends to increase between the months of May and October.
