Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies were called Friday night to a domestic battery incident that has resulted in an armed standoff situation that is happening in the 4200 block of Pheasant Drive.
Officers were called to a residence at around 11 p.m. for a domestic battery in which the female victim was punched in the face by the suspect, an ex-felon who is believed to be affiliated with a local gang. The female victim fled the home with her children and is getting medically treated for her injuries, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed.
She told 911 dispatch that the man inside the home would fight officers once they arrived. The man is believed to be armed with a semi-automatic weapon. The residence has been lit up with spotlights by Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies. The Carson City SWAT team has also been called to assist. Adjacent homes have been evacuated.
Deputies are using a PA system to call out to the man to give himself up and come out of the residence peacefully. As of early Saturday morning after 1 a.m., the man was yelling obscenities at officers from inside the home.
