Rock Point Mill Tour at Dayton State Park on Saturday Dec. 3
Built to process silver ore from the Comstock mines near Virginia City, the Rock Point Mill was one of the first and largest ore-crushing mills in Nevada. Tour the Rock Point Mill at Dayton State Park and learn how it later became one of 21 mill sites along the Carson River.
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m.
WHERE: Dayton is located 12 miles east of Carson City, NV along Highway 50. Meet in the northeastern corner of the Gold Ranch Casino parking lot, 755 Old US Hwy 50, Dayton, NV 89403.
COST: This program is free, however donations are accepted.
OTHER: This walk is less than one mile in length and involves climbing rocky stairs. Some areas on the trail are rocky and uneven. Participants should dress in layers for the weather and wear sturdy hiking boots.
