Carson City Building Division transitions to online permit software
The Carson City permit center will soon begin accepting all building permits, zoning permits and business licenses through an online customer service portal. Customers can begin using the online portal on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
On or after that date, a customer can go to the following link to register and begin submitting applications online: https://energovweb.carson.org/EnerGovProd/SelfService.
According to community development director Lee Plemel, “Our goal is to streamline the permitting process and make it easier for customers to submit applications. We’re also implementing measures behind the scenes to facilitate more efficient plan reviews and coordination by City staff.”
The City’s permit center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. The new system will allow customers to submit permit applications online at any time, any day of the week.
The City’s building division is advising customers that there may be some delays in the review of permits submitted the weeks of November 4-15 due to permits being converted from the existing permitting software system to the new system.
City permit staff will continue to be available to assist walk-in customers set up an account and submit applications. Customers can contact the applicable permitting department if they have questions regarding the new permit system.
