Child suffers injuries in horse accident at Carson City's Fuji Park
Carson City paramedics were called Thursday afternoon to the livestock area of Fuji Park after a 4-year-old child suffered injuries from an accident involving a horse.
Carson City Sheriff's Ken Furlong contacted dispatch just after 4:15 p.m. from Fuji Park regarding the child suffering injuries in an accident. The child was alert and conscious but suffered possible head injuries, the sheriff told dispatch.
Arriving first responders called for a medical helicopter, however, the wait time was more than 30 minutes before it was able to land and a decision was made to take the child via ground ambulance to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
