Deputies arrest man accused of brandishing a pistol at storage unit facility
A 70-year-old Zephyr Cove man was arrested Wednesday, 1:25 p.m. in the 1100 block of Fairview Drive on suspicion of aiming a firearm at another person, a gross misdemeanor.
According to the arrest report, Carson City sheriff’s deputies were called to a storage unit facility regarding a man brandishing a gun. Officers met with two alleged victims who both said the man aimed a pistol at them because they were blocking his path. Both witnesses advised they never verbally or physically threatened the man.
The Zephyr Cove man was found with a small pistol in his truck and stated he only “showed” the gun, and did not aim it, and he did so because he feared for his life, the arrest report states.
The man could not articulate or explain to officers what the two had done to make him fear for his life other than to say they “came at” him, the arrest report states. Bail: $2,500.
— A 26-year-old Dayton woman, Amanda Marie McGarry, was booked Wednesday into Carson City Jail on a felony warrant, DUI controlled substance third offense. Bail: $20,000.
— A 24-year-old transient was arrested Wednesday, 11:25 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Walker River Township, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to a motel regarding a dispute. Officers met with the 24-year-old man and his ex-wife. She told officers she found the man with three other in the motel room and there was meth in the room. The man admitted to being in the room with meth and paraphernalia but claimed it belonged to the three others who ran away, the arrest report states. Dispatch confirmed a misdemeanor warrant for the man’s arrest. Bail: $1,297.
— A 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 12:10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Thompson Street on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and resisting an officer.
According to the arrest report the woman was intoxicated and at the home of her estranged husband when he asked her to leave, the arrest report states. The woman wouldn’t and the man called the sheriff’s office. He told officers that she would not leave and that he wanted her arrested for trespassing. The officer attempted to arrest her and she resisted, the report states. She was taken to jail. At detention she registered a .230 preliminary breath test at 12:30 p.m. Bail: $594.
— Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
