Enright, Aces roll to victory 4-2 over RiverCats; lead series 2-0
RENO- It was all about the Aces starter RHP Barry Enright who made sure that the Sacramento RiverCats' bats would be silenced in Game 2 at Aces Ballpark Thursday night in the best-of-five series.
Enright threw masterfully for Reno going 6.2 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk. The only blemish for Barry was a Chris Carter solo home run in the 6th inning and that was all the RiverCats would be able to muster up against Enright offensively.
Reno's offense would go to work in the 4th inning against Sacramento starter RHP Tyson Ross by getting 2 runs on back-to-back RBI singles by Cole Gillespie and Tony Abreu. The Aces would add single runs in the 5th and 6th innings.
In the 9th inning, the Aces called upon reliever RHP Mike DeMark to close things out and did it with ease striking out the first two RiverCat batters Stephen Parker and Tyler Ladendorf. DeMark would get Jermaine Mitchell to hit a come backer right to him and subsequently tossed the baseball to the first baseman Andy Tracy to complete the 4-2 victory over Sacramento and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. Enright would get the win for Reno as Ross would take the loss for Sacramento.
The series will now shift over the hill into Sacramento where the Aces will have to just win one game in three tries to move on to the PCL Championship round.
