Carson City area gaming revenue down in July, but not as much as the rest of Nevada
Carson City area casinos, which include those in Gardnerville, Minden and other area of Douglas County with the exception of the Stateline area at Tahoe pulled in $9,665,276 in "gaming win" compared to $9,922,046 in July 2019, a decrease of 2.59 percent.
South Shore Lake Tahoe gaming revenue was down nearly 40 percent. Casinos there saw a gaming win of $21,104,759 for the month compared to $34,996,813 in July 2019.
Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $756,793,269 for the month of July 2020. This amounts to a 26.16 percent decrease compared to July 2019, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,024,925,615.
Though the figures remain stark compared to 2019 figures, casinos revenue statewide is rebounding since reopening June 4, after being closed in mid-March due to COVID-19. Statewide gaming revenue in June 2020, for example, was down 45.55 percent over the same time in June 2019.
Elsewhere, casinos in Sparks saw a revenue increase over July 2019 of 2.82 percent, while Reno casinos were down 10.22 percent, and North Lake Tahoe casinos down 33.20 percent.
