South Lake Tahoe Olympic star Jamie Anderson wins 2 ESPY Awards
Jamie Anderson of South Lake Tahoe won two awards at Wednesday night's ESPY awards in Los Angeles. She won the award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete and Best Female U.S. Olympian.
Anderson, the 23-year-old who brought home a gold medal, also won the ESPY for Best Female Action Sports Athlete in 2012. She won inaugural Women's Slopestyle Event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
An ESPY Award is an accolade presented by the American cable television network ESPN to recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance.
Anderson, along with Maddie Bowman, and Hannah Teter, all from the South Tahoe area, have won Olympic gold. Bowman won a gold medal in the Sochi Olympic games in the Halfpipe competition. Teter won a gold in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. Squaw Valley downhill skier Julia Mancuso also won gold in the 2006 games.
