Nevada Bighorns Baseball: Carson City's Summer Baseball Team
The Bighorns have shown that this year's team is among the best that they have had in their history. Bighorn player Jeff Young told me over the fourth of July weekend that; "this is our best team we have ever had."
The talent they have on the field has backed-up that claim. While their 9-11-1 overall record may not look impressive, the games have stayed close and the Bighorns have been in every game with a chance to win every day. With players like Eric Maupin (former Galena and WNC star), Sean Costella (2011 NAIA National Champion), Paul Cagle (WNC and Feather River star), and veterans Adam Anderson, Jeff Young, Adam Miller, Corey Metoyer, Brandon Metoyer, Joey Webb, Ryan Shepherd, and Blake Nahlen this team has great chemistry together.
These guys are selfless and classy on the field, which to tell you the truth, is hard to find in a team. Every one of them has fun on and off the field and never puts the "I" in team.
It's a pleasure to work with a team like the Bighorns. Head Coach Dennis Young and Assistant Head Coach Scott Anderson are a true joy to have conversations with. They know the game up and down and can crack you up with the best of them. More importantly, they play the game right and run a classy program in the Bighorns.
I will always consider myself a part of the Bighorns family, and as I make my way to professional ball in broadcasting I'll never forget them.
The Nevada Bighorns will head to Marysville, California (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) to play a prestigious summer baseball program in the Marysville Gold Sox. All games start at 7 pm and will be broadcasted live right here on CarsonNow.org, your one stop shop for everything Carson City!
