The first day of summer Friday will seem more like a typical spring day as sunshine and relatively cool temperatures are expected in the Carson City area, with even cooler overnight temperatures at Lake Tahoe and the Sierra.
Daytime high temperatures Friday around Carson City, Carson Valley will be in the low 70s with overnight lows in the mid 40s Friday night. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s on Saturday before warming to the mid 80s by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
If you're headed to Lake Tahoe, expect daytime highs in the low 60s Friday and around 65 on Saturday, and then near 70 for Sunday. Night time lows will be in the low 40s. The weather service advises overnight mountain temperatures may creep lower to near freezing in some Sierra valleys.
