Carson City Sheriff's Office, Fire Department go head to head in Battle of Badges blood drive
The Carson City Fire Department and the Carson City Sheriff's Office are competing Thursday in a blood drive to save lives.
The annual Battle of The Badges takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Ormsby Room of the Carson City Sheriff's Office Administration building, 911 East Musser.
The blood drive, hosted by both agencies, is an annual event where firefighters and sheriff's office deputies, officers, administration staff and Nevada Highway Patrol go arm against arm in a blood draw for Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services.
Those wishing to donate blood alongside law officers or firefighters can participate. A similar blood drive was held recently at the Carson City Fire Department as part of Battle of the Badges.
Go here to signup through Vitalant or show up to sign up and say which agency you wish your blood donation to be made through in the competition: firefighters or sheriff's officers.
