Tarp in line knocks out power to more than 2,000 NV Energy customers in Carson City
UPDATE 2:52PM: NV Energy continues to work on a power line issue which knocked out power to more than 2,000 customers at one point Sunday afternoon. NV Energy said the damage to equipment was caused by wind. A Carson City Fire Department battalion chief noted from the scene the outage may have been caused by a tarp in the power line. NV Energy says it should have power fully restored to around 150 customers remaining without power by 8 p.m.

A tarp in a line has knocked out power in areas throughout south Carson City on Sunday afternoon, according to the Carson City Fire Department.
NV Energy reports at least 2,180 customers in south Carson City are without power. The outage happened shortly before 1 p.m.
The outage is affecting traffic control lights on Clearview among other areas.
NV Energy has dispatched crews to the scene. A Carson City Fire Department battalion chief noted that a tarp was in a power line and that a line is also down. NV Energy estimates the time for restoration to be around 3:45 p.m.
