Carson City man faces charges after allegedly punching girlfriend in the face in front of daughters

A Carson City man faces a felony probation violation charge and a charge of domestic battery after he allegedly pushed and punched his girlfriend in front of his 16-year-old daughter and the victim's 14-year-old daughter.
According to a Carson City sheriff's arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of Roop Street on Sunday morning at around 2:30 a.m. to meet with the victim. Carson Now will not publish the name of the suspect because the two children are tied to the investigation.
The victim told deputies that she and her boyfriend had gotten into a fight at her apartment in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive. Deputies observed the woman's eye had a slight bruise and had a small amount of blood on the eyelid.
Deputies responded to the Silver Oak Drive address, which the victim allowed officers to enter after she signed a consent of search form.
Using the key provided by the victim, the deputy entered the apartment and made contact with the suspect in a bedroom. The man, who was on probation with a no alcohol clause, had an odor of alcohol, the deputies observed. The man also had a warrant for his arrest on charges of contempt in Fallon.
The suspect was questioned, and asked if he and the victim had a fight. The man told the deputy that it had only been an argument, according to the arrest report.
Also in the apartment were two girls, a 16-year-old, who was the daughter of the man, and a 14-year-old girl, who was the daughter of the victim.
The 16-year-old told deputies that she had witnessed the altercation between her father and the victim. She told the officer she watched as her father "pushed her face away." The 14-year-old told deputies she witnessed the argument and that she watched as the suspect struck her mother in the eye.
The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrant, a parole violation, and, domestic battery because of the similarities in the stories and physical evidence, according to the report.
The man was transported to the Carson City jail and filled out a statement. As he was doing the paperwork the arresting deputy observed a small amount of dried blood on the little finger of his right hand. The deputy asked him to turn his hand over to show the palm and the deputy noticed a small cut on the suspect's ring finger. When the deputy asked how he had gotten the cut, the man "could not explain it to me," according to the arrest report.
The deputy reported that the length of the cut was similar to the shape of the blood transfer on the victim's eyelid, which would correlate with the story of the 16-year-old's version of the suspect shoving the victim's head away and transferring the blood from his hand to her closed eyelid, according to the arrest report. Bail was set at $4,498.
