Carson City, statewide gaming revenue loss shows sharp contrast after March 18 casino shutdown
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $618,129,278 for the month of March 2020. This amounts to a 39.57 percent decrease compared to March 2019, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,022,961,241.
For Carson City area casinos, which include those in Gardnerville, Minden and other areas of Douglas County with the exception of south shore Lake Tahoe, gaming revenue drop to $5,199,811 for the month. In March, 2019, gaming revenue, also called "win" was $9,173,873.
Elsewhere, casinos at south shore Lake Tahoe in Stateline saw gaming revenue decrease 43.1 percent. Casinos in Reno saw a revenue decrease of 55.21 percent, Sparks, 50 percent, and north shore Lake Tahoe, 65.20 percent.
