Late Judge Fondi recognized at Carson City courthouse with ceremony, plaque in his honor
Dozens from the Carson City and Northern Nevada legal community were on hand Friday for a plaque dedication ceremony at the Carson City Courthouse to celebrate the man who helped get the Musser Street courthouse built, the late Nevada First District Court Judge Michael E. Fondi, who died Jan. 22, 2016.
Attending the ceremony were Judge Fondi’s wife, Valerie Cooney, sons Jonathan Fondi and Anthony Fondi, daughter-in-law Connie Fondi, granddaughter Ashley Fondi and grandson Dylan Fondi. Family members who were unable to attend but recognized by family were son Michael Fondi, and daughter-in-law Carrie Fondi and other grandchildren.
The ceremony was led by East Fork Township Justice Judge Thomas E. Perkins, a member of the Nevada Judicial Historical Society in which Judge Fondi was chairman, from 2006 to 2016.
In December, the Fondi family dedicated a Schenley bench to the late judge.
