Carson City man charged with obstruction after drunken tirade against officers
A 23-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested after allegedly obstructing an officer when deputies found him and a woman lying in the middle of the road near a bar at 1475 Old Hot Springs Road.
Officers found the man sitting next to the woman, propping her up as she continually fell over, according to a deputy report. Officers asked the man what had happened, and the man said "I ain't driving. I don't need to tell you anything."
Officers attempted to tell the man why they were there, and the man told the officers to "shut up and f*** off." The officers, attempting to get the man home without arrest, said they were going to call him a cab. When officers asked what his address was, the man continued his verbal assault of the officers.
A deputy asked the man about a wound on his hand, and the man continued to be aggressive with officers, according to the report. For the safety of the officers the man was placed into handcuffs. As he was arrested he yelled at the woman to not tell officers anything. The drunk woman was taken home.
The man continued to swear at officers, and declined a breath intoxication sample test at the scene on the side of the road. When he was taken to jail, the man subsequently blew a .140, according to the report. He was charged with obstructing a police officer.
